[Rio de Janeiro cyclone map]

Since Thursday morning at four in the morning, the city of Rio de Janeiro has been in the stage of mobilization (10). The coast is seeing the development of a cyclone, which, when coupled with the movement of a cold front, may result in very heavy precipitation and winds that can reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour. Today's high temperature should remain steady at 23 degrees Celsius.

Warning for seafarers with a hangover, since waves of up to 4 meters in height are possible between 9 am on Wednesday and 9 pm on Friday of this week (12).

At this very minute, it is pouring cats and dogs in several parts of the city as well as in Baixada Fluminense, and forecasters predict that the storm will continue in this vein until the early afternoon. There is evidence that there were pockets of water.

Drivers pay particular care on wet and slick roads in order to prevent situations such to the one that occurred on Avenida Brasil at the time of Casa do Marinheiro in Penha, lane heading in the direction of the West Zone. On this particular stretch, a truck toppled, and the cargo wound up in the center of the road. There have been no reports of injuries so yet.
