Russian military are stepping up their onslaught in Ukraine's south. Numerous air attacks rock the city of Mykolaiv. A barracks was supposedly attacked, and scores of people were murdered.

There were multiple further Russian assaults against Mykolaiv on Saturday after a deadly air hit on a barracks in southern Ukraine left the city rocked. Governor Vitali Kim said that the airstrikes occurred so swiftly that no one was able to raise an alert.
Because "by the time we announce this tornado, it's already here," he stated, the people of Mykolaiv could no longer be informed in advance of air attacks. He did not reveal the degree of the damage or the number of people who may have been affected.
Several deaths are expected in the barracks.
After six rockets struck a military barracks in northern Cairo overnight, rescuers were still combing through the ruins to find survivors. Eyewitnesses that roughly 200 troops were resting in the barracks when the incident occurred. Numerous people's lives might be lost. At least 50 dead have been found, a soldier said.
The Russian military has been accused of "cowardly rocket strikes on sleeping troops," according to Governor Kim. There's no way to know exactly how many people were killed just yet. It is said that Mykolaiv serves as a "protective shield" for the port city of Odessa, which is located around 130 kilometres to the west.
Russia employs hypersonic missiles
A hypersonic missile was fired against Ukraine for the first time by Russia. An underground Ukrainian Air Force weapons storage facility was destroyed by the Kinshah (Dagger) missile, according to Russia's Ministry of Defense. This particular concentration camp was situated in the town of Delyatyn in western Ukraine, roughly 100 kilometres from the Romanian border.
With their extraordinary speed and agility, the high-speed hypersonic missiles are capable of defeating air defence systems from the ground up. Experts say this was the first time Russia has employed these weapons in an armed combat, according to reports.
It's still "catastrophic" in Mariupol.
Russian and Ukrainian government forces resumed their battle for control of the beleaguered port city of Mariupol, located on the Sea of Azov. "Temporarily" losing access to the Sea of Azov, the Ukrainian side stated on Saturday. It was announced on Friday that the Russian army and soldiers from eastern Ukraine's rebel region of Donetsk had invaded the strategically significant city.
Ukrainian Interior Ministry adviser characterised the situation in Mariupol as horrific. According to consultant Vadym Denysenko, there is a battle for control of the Azovstal steelworks just outside of town. According to him, "one of the most important steel plants in Europe is in ruins."
Russia is Zelenskyy's primary target.
In a video message, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Russian authorities to meet and discuss ways to restore Ukraine's territorial integrity and justice. There have been multiple rounds of discussions between Russian and Ukrainian delegates since the start of the Ukraine conflict on February 24, but none have resulted in anything.
As a result of Russia's war on Ukraine, Ukraine has now called on China to condemn it. On Twitter, Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mykhailo Podoliak said China has a role to play in the global security system if it chooses to assist the coalition of civilised nations and denounce Russian savagery. Chinese officials are under increased pressure to separate themselves from Russia.
More than 3.3 million people have left the conflict in Ukraine, according to the United Nations. According to the UN refugee agency UNHCR, about 6.5 million additional Ukrainians have fled the country.
