Italian police have arrested a frigate captain of Italian Navy while passing top secret documents to Russia spies after their meeting on yesterday night (March 30,2020).
Russian ambassador Sergey Razov was immediately summoned by Italian foreign ministry. Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio stated this situation an "extremely grave matter".
Authority hasn’t been confirmed yet if those two expelled diplomats were involved in spying in Italy.
Reuters reported, Kremlin said that they didn’t have specific information about this matter.
This is a very fresh Russian espionage activity in Europe after Bulgaria and Netherlands.
